These are strange times…
As you’re reading this, you’re probably sat at home, searching for that last emergency loo roll, wondering if the kids will be entertained for five precious minutes with another round of “Find The Remote Control” and calling your parents for the fiftieth time to check that they haven’t left the house.
It’s a tough old time and no mistake.
In times of crisis, small, local businesses face enormous financial challenges. Arguably, these are the businesses that will be most negatively affected by the current Covid-19 pandemic. If a large chain restaurant needs to close for a few months, they’ll be dented but not sunk. An independent café forced to close for the same amount of time, however, could well go out of business. In short, it is now more important than ever to support local business.
These are the small, feisty organisations that we’ve invested in, believe in and will continue to support for as long as we can. Unlike large chains or conglomerates, behind every product you purchase from a small business is a person. Usually, a person with a passion. It is a well-known fact that every time you buy from a small independent business, someone somewhere does a happy dance.
Naturally, lots of the experiences and services offered by our independent partners, can’t take place now nor in the coming weeks. Yoga classes (and other large gatherings) are just not safe to hold at the moment. As of the update we received on 20th March 2020, we are aware that the Government has instructed many businesses to close their doors. We’re doing everything we can to support our partners during the Covid-19 outbreak and enable you to continue to discover the joys of local business.
If you’ve recently purchased a voucher with us to spend with one of our amazing independent partners, then please get in touch. If you have any questions about anything on our website, please email our friendly customer services team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
This won’t last forever. We will beat it. When we band together, people can do amazing things.
